Discipline

It's hard to write when I'm tired or busy or stressed or...well, when I've got my panties in a bunch. And that's what happened over the last week or so. I didn't finish the Ant Queen series last weekend because I was travelling, and then I had houseguests this week, so it was sort of hard to sit here and crank out what amounts to Christian porn. There is one more installment scheduled, and it's mostly done, but needs some serious tuning so as to be a little less...uhm...pornful.

For those of you who had difficulty digesting the Ant Queen, it was an allegory about that other online place, and about hypocrisy. It was certainly a strong opinion piece, and I think it sort of frightened a few of you. The Ant Queen in the series bears little relationship to our friend the Ant Queen, and I should add that Insuffricubus bears no resemblance to me.

I was feeling pretty sandy for a few days after I posted those. The Mom set me straight on some portions of my sandiness; while it's true that I'm trying to entertain all who read this, and especially those of you who are my friends, and it's true that I get a lot of satisfaction from entertaining you, especially those of you who are my friends, it's really not for me to care what anyone thinks about what I post here, from a critical standpoint (of course I care from a substantive standpoint). Thanks, Mom. Toots was also very helpful in this regard, putting me straight in a very different way that was entirely her own, and thanks very kindly to you, too, Toots.

The loud houseguests are behind me, and Ilse is here, and it's darned near to bedtime here on the East Coast. Work is still a fright, and I've some travel coming up next weekend, so I'm not sure how much I'll write over the next week.

I do apologize for the void. But I maintain that I've been far too foul to share for the last few days. More to come soon, because don't we all love it when Landru is tired and pissy?
